The top is a panel of copper that was flamed with a blowtorch and then glued to a sub-straight then framed with cherry.
The drawer fronts are framed with stripes of paduak

This is the first piece of furniture that I made that i own.  I figured it was about time i got to keep a piece of furniture that I made.  This piece took me a while because it was a pain in the ass to find a piece of copper with out having to purchase a full sheet.  I am very please with the end result.  I will be building a coffee table and 2 end tables to complete the set in the near future.

AlexSutula AlexSutula writes: the copper is just glued to the substrate with gorilla glue (its what I had lying around), in the future i will use a slow setting epoxy. I am not sure the gauge of the copper but i got it from a guy who was repairing his roof and had just enough left over to do this table. Unfortunately i have not had the cash so buy the sheet of copper i need for the other tables. Hopefully in 2 or 3 months time i will have the other tables completed.
