Rice Paddy Inspired Cabinet

I enjoy experimenting with finishes. The inspiration for this piece came from a drawing of a rice paddy. This built-in cabinet is made from oak. I applied shellac to the entire piece to seal the wood, then masked the design. I sandblasted it to remove the shellac, removed the tape and ebonized the sandblasted area. Then I stained the entire piece. I finished it with a wipe-on poly.
