Make Waves
comments (0) August 11th, 2009 in Reader's GalleryThis cherry and steel wall sculpture is 5' by 9'. Three slabs were cut from one log. Each slab was cut into smaller pieces. The pieces were turned off center creating concentric circles of varying sizes. Turning the pieces off cener was a challenge. MDF pieces were attached at various positions to adjust the balance creating some pieces as large as four foot in diameter. Then the pieces were reassembled piso the wood grain is continous. The sculpture hangs in the Neil Armstrong building at Purdue University.
