As part of a Hand Joinery class at Palomar College, we were required to build a box incorporating dovetails, frame and panel and a lid. My Lie Nielsen planes didn't have their own home so a case was in order and this was the result. Woods used were quarter-sawn hard maple and black walnut from a tree near our house. Finish was wipe-on polyurethane and paste wax.

I'm taking the class for the second time right now. Its a very beautiful piece. I like the combination of the half-blind and through dovetails and I love the work on the handle! It's got something cool to look at from every angle.
